Meselech Tube is Redemption's single origin espresso with notes of Cola bottles, honeydew melon and pear.

Meselech Tube has been farming coffee in Sidamo since the 1990s, managing Shantaweyne Farm, which she inherited from her family. The coffee business now supports her six children, three of whom work with her on the farm.

Single-producer lots from Ethiopia are rare, but recent government regulation changes allow direct purchasing with traceability to individual producers. To fertilize her coffee trees, Meselech uses manure from livestock and other organic byproducts from the farm.

Redemption Roasters

This specialty coffee company is a social enterprise who believes coffee can help reduce reoffending in the UK. Starting with a small roastery inside HMYOI Aylesbury, they’ve now expanded to a commercial-scale operation in HMP The Mount, a Category C men’s prison. Here, they employ up to five prison residents at a time, providing hands-on training in coffee roasting, production, and logistics.

In their roastery inside HMP The Mount, they do more than just roast coffee—they employ up to five prison residents, teaching them valuable skills in roasting, production, and logistics. This hands-on experience builds confidence and self-esteem, while their pay, which is above the standard prison rate, includes a portion set aside for release. This gives them a financial boost to support their reintegration into society.
